Prescription for Success Scholars Program
The Prescription for Success Scholars Program (formerly The Professionalism Certificate Program) is an initiative offered by Pre-Professional Advising designed to assist students in the strengthening of their professional skills and preparedness for applying to medical school, dental school, and other health-professions programs. Students selected to participate in the program will complete a series of activities and attend workshops relevant to their educational and career goals. Each spring, students who complete the program are recognized at an end-of-year ceremony and receive a certificate of completion. This is a professional development program. Students do not receive university course credit for participation and completion is not noted on the university transcript.
What are the benefits?
By engaging in the required activities, you will enhance your professional skills and become a stronger candidate for your professional program. Students who complete the program will be able to list it on their resumes and applications. Completion of the program may set students apart from others when applying for internships, summer programs, and future education and employment. We know that students who apply to professional programs early in the application cycle are more likely to be accepted, so our hope is that will you finish the Professionalism Certificate Program before you apply to your program so that you will be able to apply early in your cycle.
Who is eligible to participate?
Sophomores and above with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
Eligible students may apply in September or January.
