Our office provides pre-professional advising for all students interested in pursuing health professions that require an advanced degree (masters or doctorate): Dentistry, Medicine, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, and Veterinary Medicine. Top 10 Tips for First-Year Health Professions Students

1)Register with our office to receive weekly e-mails regarding information and events related to your area of interest

2) Select an undergraduate major and tell your advisor what your professional plans are

3) Take Math & Science (maybe two) your first semester

4) If you need help go to tutoring (PASC). If you excel in an area, become a tutor

5) Join a student organization related to your major or future profession

6) Volunteer. Find ways to demonstrate that you care about others and making a difference in the community.

7) Shadow a professional

8) Read! Stay abreast of current issues and trends in healthcare

9) Be informed! Attend relevant workshops, meetings, expos
